Describing Your World

**This** (singular, near): *This book is mine*. **That** (singular, far): *That car is expensive*. **These** (plural, near): *These keys are mine*. **Those** (plural, far): *Those houses are old*. 💡 In Arabic, you distinguish near/far with هذا/ذلك. English does the same but with plural forms too: these/those.

- The book is **next to** the lamp. - The cat is **behind** the sofa. - The bank is **opposite** the supermarket. - The keys are **on** the table. - The school is **between** the park and the library.

✍️ **Practice tip:** Describe your room in English, then in Arabic. Use this/that/these/those for objects around you, and prepositions for their positions.
